1/2 Marathon

I have run the Terwa half marathon again in Oulu. The attitude was great again lots of people were cheering us. My plan was to take it easy and enjoy it and not to rush and try to get a better time. So I took a small walk at the drink stops and strech my legs and took a nap ;-) It worked almost well I enjoyed it except the last 2kms. My time was 2:05, I think those 5 minutes were worth not to feel bad afterwards.
I was a bit surprised because I trained on a route in the forest and 20kms weren't a problem, but running on the concrete roads make my legs hurt a lot. When I was biking home I saw the full marathon runners reaching their final stop and I felt great respect towards them. It made wonder how should I train to my first marathon? Currently it would be really problematic. Anyway big respect to the runners once more!

Pilgrimige to Kebnekaise

Why are people going to the mountains? In Europe some people can take it as an sport exercise or they just enjoy the scenery and the beauty of the nature. Even my father who is not religious at all, said that in mountains he can feel closer to God. For me it is like some good meditation, there is a huge space, strong light, cleanness and I am above all worldly things. I can breath freely, sometimes after a long pranayama practice in the city I can breath like that.
In Nepal hindus were going up to the mountains to some holy waterfall, probably to take some bath. Maybe they feel the same like everybody, but probably they explain it in a different way. Maybe they place some religious reason for that while europians just go to the top because it is cool and they just don't think about it.
